Welcome to the New Year 2026 edition of ZENFULdog Training’s Dog of the Month, featuring not one but two irresistible pups: Ziggy and Hagrid! These two full brothers were born from different litters but are bonded for life. They were both adopted by their pet-mom, Diane, who happily welcomed their joyful chaos into her home. Now this rambunctious duo is thriving, loving family life and having an absolute blast training with Diane and their ZENFULdog family!
Ages: Ziggy is 3, and Hagrid is 4
Meet Ziggy and Hagrid
Ziggy’s Family Life: Ziggy is a people-focused sweetheart who thrives on connection and affection from his family. Hagrid is his steady companion and grounding force. The cats present an extra challenge due to his prey drive, but Ziggy is learning and improving every day and making real progress. To him, family is safety, guidance and an endless supply of love.
Hagrid’s Family Life: Hagrid is the calm, thoughtful soul of the household and he is deeply bonded to his people. He balances Ziggy well and takes his role as big brother seriously, while being respectful but independent around the cats. His family provides him with comfort, structure and confidence.

Ziggy and Hagrid's Personalities According to Diane: Ziggy is the trickster and the clown of the pair, while Hagrid is the more sensible of the two, but Hagrid can still be goofy at times, too. Ziggy flashes a smile that can melt anyone with those big, expressive eyes, while Hagrid is all about cosy snuggles and blissful belly rubs.
Diane Shares The Most Unique Thing about Ziggy and Hagrid: Diane is convinced that Ziggy must be part kangaroo because he bounces everywhere he goes instead of walking! He is also a total cuddlebug, soaking up affection whether he’s at home or out in public.
Hagrid, on the other hand, has ‘cool kid’ energy. Public petting is not his vibe. But at home, he reveals his quirks, like walking up the stairs backwards every night at bedtime.
Both dogs have also mastered the art of nose‑piano, tapping out notes with impressive enthusiasm. And they’re not stopping there; they’re currently learning cues for the bass drum and cymbals, expanding their growing canine orchestra.

Ziggy and Hagrid's favourite Treats/Foods according to Diane: Ziggy and Hagrid are united in their love for frisbees and their nightly frozen Kongs—the perfect pre‑bedtime ritual: “As for stuffed toys, well…let’s just say stuffies don’t stand a chance in this household.”
Diane Lists Ziggy and Hagrid’s Favourite Activities: Both boys adore their classes at ZENFULdog, where they get to learn, play and burn off energy. Hagrid has a special passion for tracking and scent detection, while Ziggy prefers chewing sticks and, frankly, anything he can get his paws on.
Diane Explains How Ziggy and Hagrid Unwind After a Full Day of Activity: When it’s time to settle down, nothing soothes these two quite like their beloved stuffed Kongs before bed: a simple, comforting routine they look forward to every night.

If Ziggy and Hagrid had human voices, Diane says Ziggy and Hagrid would sound just like the iconic comedy duo from early Hollywood: Laurel and Hardy: Ziggy with the playful, high‑spirited charm of Stan Laurel, and Hagrid with the steadier, more grounded tone of Oliver Hardy.
Ziggy and Hagrid’s Training
Ziggy and Hagrid have been training with ZENFULdog Training since they were tiny pups, now going on four years!
In that time, they’ve explored an impressive lineup of classes, ranging from canine fitness and parkour to resilience-building and real-world readiness (on more than one occasion). They’ve also taken puppy classes, joined a frisbee workshop, tried their paws at Rally Obedience, and even done some private training sessions. And Ziggy, ever the showman, has added trick‑dog training to his résumé.
Diane Tells Us How Training Has Shaped Ziggy and Hagrid: “Training with Kendra and Kether has had a huge impact on Ziggy and Hagrid. Kendra and Kether are incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and we genuinely love taking classes with them. Ziggy has always been my wild child, and with Kendra’s guidance, he has made amazing progress in focus, confidence and self-regulation; Hagrid has grown into a calm, thoughtful and confident working partner.”
Diane Describes Ziggy and Hagrid’s Biggest Training Challenges/Successes: Training two enthusiastic dogs at the same time, especially indoors, has been one of the biggest challenges. Figuring out when to work as a team and when to split sessions took some trial and error, but it’s been absolutely worth it. Along the way, both boys have been building confidence, focus and resilience in real‑world environments.
Watching them learn to regulate themselves, problem‑solve and genuinely enjoy the work has been incredibly rewarding. Ziggy, especially, has made huge strides in channelling his energy in positive ways, while Hagrid has truly grown into a thoughtful, steady and reliable working partner.

Diane recalls Ziggy and Hagrid’s Most Rewarding Moments of Training in Action: For Diane, the most rewarding moments are watching the boys choose engagement, confidence and curiosity in situations that once felt overwhelming: “Those quiet moments when everything ‘clicks,’ whether it’s a successful class, a new skill mastered or simply watching them enjoy learning—are incredibly rewarding.”
Diane adds: "We’re so grateful for the supportive, encouraging environment at ZENFULdog. Kendra and Kether have created a space where learning feels fun, empowering, and achievable—not just for the dogs, but for the humans too. We truly couldn’t imagine this journey without them.”
ZENFULdog owner and trainer, Kendra, adds: “Ziggy and Hagrid have become such special parts of the ZENFULdog training community, and it’s always a joy to watch these teams grow together. Diane is a vibrant and positive pet guardian who brings so much warmth and encouragement to every class: she’s a big part of what makes our canine community so supportive and amazing. Along with Scott often bringing Ziggy to parkour and Diane bringing Hagrid, these teams show up ready to learn, laugh and play.
Both dogs absolutely love parkour: jumps, tic tacs, vaults, unders—they’re in! They’ll tackle difficult across-skills and confidently offer two paws on moving obstacles, even the ones that slam down with a bit of drama. Their enthusiasm, trust and problem-solving skills shine every session.
Ziggy is one of our true Trick Dog superstars. There honestly hasn’t been a challenge he didn’t enjoy—from playing the piano to giving hugs, he’s all heart, creativity and joy. Hagrid, on the other hand, is wonderfully technical in his fitness work. He loves putting his paws on things, and structured fitness training truly enriches him, builds strength and body awareness while keeping him motivated through thoughtfully reinforcing equipment.
Both dogs are beautiful, sweet souls, and at times, they’re hard to tell apart. But there is one very obvious (and hilarious) difference: Hagrid does not want public displays of affection, while Ziggy absolutely lives for them. You only need to glance over at break time to see who’s hoping for a major snuggle and who is politely declining!
We’re so grateful to have Ziggy, Hagrid, and their humans as part of the Zenfuldog family”
