Welcome to the December 2024 edition of ZENFULdog of the Month featuring Molly! Molly is known as a ‘Parti Poodle’ because of her unique appearance with a white curly base and black markings throughout her fur. Her black head and expressive eyes get her many compliments. Molly has a typically laid-back demeanour and is always up for an adventure with her pet-mom, Leah. Molly and her family are beloved members of the ZENFULdog Training community.

Meet Molly’s Family
(Leah—Molly ’s pet-mom): Molly and her pet-mom share an unbreakable bond. Molly is right by her side wherever her mom goes, ensuring she’s never alone—even on the couch.
(Julien—Molly ’s pet-dad): Molly’s pet-dad loves listening to her exciting adventures and consistently cheers her on to learn new tricks and tackle fresh challenges.
(Buster—Molly ’s dog brother): Molly has learned that Buster is much smaller than her, but that doesn’t stop her from occasionally trying to get him to play with her. When Buster feels nervous, he has been caught seeking comfort by cuddling up to Molly.
Molly also adores visiting her granny and playing with her dog, Youka. She also loves spending time with her other grandparents.
Molly's Personality According to Leah: Molly has a bit of a diva streak. Her family thinks if she was a human teenager, she’d only settle for the biggest name brands and all the must-have accessories.
Leah Shares The Most Unique Thing about Molly: Apart from her unique markings, Molly has incredibly expressive eyes. With just a glance, she can clearly communicate her needs and wants to her pet-mom.
Molly's favourite Treats/Foods according to Leah: Molly enjoys her freeze-dried beef treats during training, but she'll do absolutely anything when it comes to cheese!
Molly’s Favourite Activities: Molly loves going on walks with all her friends, especially when her best friends Georgia and Elly May are there! She also enjoys car rides, camping (or glamping, in her case) and running around her yard with her big ball!
Leah Explains how Molly Unwinds After a Full Day of Activity: Molly loves to unwind with her ‘Bubba’ (a frozen kong filled with delicious food) and cozying up on her pet-mom’s lap to watch television—completely oblivious to her actual size.
Molly’s Training
Molly embarked on her training journey with ZENFULdog Training in 2023, completing level 2 Skills & Socialization. She also advanced through levels 2, 3 and 4 of Adolescent Parkour.
Leah Tells Us How Training Has Shaped Molly: Molly was quite a handful as a puppy. She constantly needed to be kept busy and didn’t know how to properly control her energy: “Kendra played a huge role in teaching us how to manage Molly's boundless energy and set her up for success, helping us become a great team!”
Leah Describes Molly’s Biggest Training Challenges/Successes: Molly’s biggest training challenge was becoming overly excited whenever she saw another dog. Thanks to Kendra’s group classes and the fantastic ZENFULdog canisport group, Molly has built up her confidence and continues to learn how to make proper introductions.
Leah found it truly heartwarming to witness Molly’s greatest training success: building the confidence and obedience to accompany her pet-mom anywhere!
Leah recalls Molly’s Most Rewarding Moments of Training in Action:
For Leah, the most rewarding moments of training have been watching Molly support her friends when they need it.
Leah adds: “Molly is such a fun, loving and affectionate Parti Poodle who brings joy to everyone she meets. Thank you so much to Kendra for always supporting us and encouraging us to be the best team we can be!”
Kendra adds: “Molly is an absolute charmer. One look from her soulful poodle eyes and you’ll be melting! Don’t be fooled though—she can just as easily give you a judging glance, lol! Expressive, playful and a joy to have in classes, Molly’s personality shines through everything she does.
When I first met her, her energy was through the roof—she was more airborne than grounded. Thanks to Leah’s unwavering dedication, love and support, Molly has channeled her boundless energy into productive skills and sports. She’s even become the ‘support dog’ for other dogs on hikes and activities. When another dog feels overwhelmed, we can now have them walk with Leah and Molly to help build their confidence and create a safer learning environment. This speaks volumes not only about Molly’s wonderful temperament but also about the beautiful relationship she shares with Leah. We can always rely on them for help when other teams need extra support. While Molly is a rock for others in the community, don’t think for a minute that she’s lost the spring in her step. She still loves to be airborne, but now she does so as a skilled parkour dog! Molly and her pet-mom are a cherished pair in our community. ”
